The SAFE consortium invitation to join as new members
The European Association for Food safety “The SAFE consortium” underwent a thorough internal evaluation and strategic reorientation process during 2008. As a result, we now present the new SAFE 2009-2015 as a more open and broader organisation which offers more activities to institutional and individual members, appeals to a broader membership base and has considerably lower membership fees.
We invite the following categories to join the European Association for Food Safety as new members:
1. Societal Members
National or international societies or associations in the area of food safety, science and technology.
2. Institutional Members
Institutes and universities, or institute and university departments, faculties and/or research groups.
There are three levels of membership for Institutional Members depending on their size. 'Small': <50 employees total work force (usually a university research group); 'Medium': 50 to 250 employees (usually small to mid size institutes or university departments); and 'Large': >250 employees (usually larger institutes or entire universities, university faculties or research groups comprising several universities).
Institutional Members from outside of Europe are also welcome. They pay a reduced membership fee (2/3) because they are assumed to profit less from the membership e.g., not being able to attend activities without long flights.
3. Individual Members
Individual members from the SAFE member institutes enjoy a free membership. Thus, the communication between SAFE and its members is clearly directed (and limited) to the representatives of Institutional Members and to the Individual Members within those Institutes. Individual Members can register directly by clicking 'members only' on the home page and register as first time visitors.
Individuals from non-member organisations pay a reasonable membership fee.
