Membership in the European Association for Food Safety, SAFE consortium is open to any organisation that
1. provides research, development & innovation or other technology-related services related to food safety.
2. is managerially independent.
3. is of high scientific excellence.
4. wants to participate in the SAFE mission of Keeping Food Safety on the Agenda
DiSBA (Italy)
The Department of Bio-Agrifood Sciences (DiSBA) is one of the 7 Departments of the scientific network of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). The activities managed by the Department are performed in 9 Institutes, spread over the whole national territory and involving over 700 personnel.
DiSBA has been a member of the SAFE consortium since 2002.
AZTI-Tecnalia (Spain)
AZTI-Tecnalia is a non-profit private foundation committed to the social and economical development of the marine environment and food sector and is part of Tecnalia Corporation (www.tecnalia.es). The Food Research Division at AZTI is aimed at improving the quality, productivity and innovation of food products and processes. It offers applied R&D on (i) Food Safety and Biodetection (ii) New Food Products (iii) Novel Technologies (iv) Sustainability of the Food Chain.
AZTI-Tecnalia has been a member of the SAFE consoritum since 2007.
College of Biotechnology-UCP (Portugal)
ESB-UCP is the College of Biotechnology of the Catholic University of Portugal. It is the country's leading supplier of research and education in Food Science and Technology, with more than 25 scientists on its staff and a 20 year track record in research and teaching. ESB is lcoated in Porto and is one of the major institutions in Portugal in food safety.
ESB has been a member of the SAFE consortium since 2007.
Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences of SUA Nitra (Slovak Republic)
The Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences (FBFS-SUA) is one of the 6 faculties of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra in Slovak Republic.
The Faculty was established in 2002 and launched its activities on January 1 2003. This young but progressive Faculty is dedicated to educate qualified experts specialized to understand and manage biological, chemical, technological and economic sciences focused on modern processes of food production, evaluation and processing as well as specific biotechnological products. The main goal is to achieve the biological and technological integrity of the „agricultural product - food system.“
Research tasks at the FBFS-SUA are performed in 3 fields:
- Food Sciences
- Agrobiotechnology
- Applied Biology
The Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences (FBFS) of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra has been a member of SAFE consortium since January 2018.
